A wedding is possibly one of the most important proceedings in a woman’s life. With all the things to organize and look forward to, such as your bridal dress or the wedding invitations, there comes a time where you have to start thinking about your wedding hairstyle.
Weddings are hypothetical to be a perfect and memorable event that should make an ever-lasting impression. To make the preparations as stress-free as possible and to make sure you won’t fret when picking your wedding hairstyle, we’ve collected some different styles and accessories for you to consider as well as some tips to help you along the way.

Bridal Hair Accessories

Fake or fresh water pearls twist into a bun, braid or across the crown of the head
Baby Breath flowers or dried heather or lilac arranges in a rind around the head or off to one side
Hair pieces to extend the hair or to create braids to adorn the hair design
Shells, especially mother of pearl, make beautiful hair adornments. (A small hole can be drilled in the shell to allow for ease of use)
Dried or fresh roses, either full size or baby, make a natural beautiful statement. Whether in neutral or jewel colours, ribbons can be twisted or braided to weave into hair design or to tie the hair back.
Glass or plastic collared make up for beautiful adornments to the hair design Costume jewellery clip-on earrings make the hair Silk cording, much like ribbons, can be used for many different styles
Normally, plain barrettes can be converted into real show pieces which a hot glue gun and any precious stones, mementos or decorations you find
As a bride you probably understand the importance of your wedding hairstyle. Updos are one of the most popular wedding hairstyles they are elegant, charming and work well with most wedding themes.
Here are 5 bridal updos that will never go out of fashion.

1. The Classic Ballet Bun Up do stale
Ballet buns are beautiful. In this hairstyle, medium-length and long hair are pulled back to create a perfectly formed bun at the back of the head. Because the look is very simple and stylish, these updos look great with accessories, such as flowers, wedding headpieces and veils.

2. The Classic French Twist Up do With this hairstyle, curls are swept back and secured with pins into a charming twist at the back of the head. This works absolutely with medium hairstyles and can be dressed up a bit to look breathtaking. Enhancing pins, flowers and tiaras are perfect with the classic French twist.

3. Prom Style Up do with Curls
This look is gorgeous whether you will be wearing a headpiece, veil or something else. Medium and longer-length hair is swept back and tenable at the crown of the head. Then, the excess tresses is curled and pinned to create a perfectly controlled but complicated look. To take this classic ‘prom style’ look and make it more adult and classy, sweep longer bangs over your forehead to one side. This look can be worn with garnishing, but stands alone quite beautifully.

4. Stylish Side Up do with Flowers or Accessories
Another very simple yet complicated and stunning look is the elegant side up do. Medium or long hair is curved to one side at the nape of the neck and secured with pins into a beautiful roll or bun. Bangs can be swept to the side as well, creating a more sophisticated appears. This hairstyle is absolutely stunning with several small flowers or one large stylish flower tucked in at the top of the roll. This is an especially gorgeous hairstyle which complements bridal jewellery – although, it’s best to avoid a veil with this up do.
5. Messy but Chic Up do
For this hair is brought back in sections starting with the top of the head. It is then secured with pins; yet fluffy strands of hair are left sticking out. The look is continued all the way down the back of the head, creating a chaotic and very modern-chic look. This is a wonderful look for the modern bride who will not be exhausting a veil. Headpieces look dramatic with this up do and so does the bride!
Updos are typical and are always in style – no matter the season or theme of the wedding.

Top 10 Wedding Hair Mistakes

Nobody wants to look back on the photos of their big day and cringe. So to help you avoid a bridal hair mishap, we has put together the 10 most common mistakes that brides can make.
It’s supposed to be the happiest day of your life. As the bride, you’ll be the center of attention, and not only will your friends and family be present, but your photographs will capture the moment forever.
On the big day, you want to look like yourself, only better. There’s nothing worse than a bride wearing a gorgeous gown, in the perfect location, whose hair is so dreadful that guests can’t keep their eyes off of it.
Neil Weisberg and Amanda George, co-owners of the celebrity-filled Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills, say brides should always have a consultation with the stylist who will be doing their hair one to two months before the wedding date to ensure that their dream hairstyle fits in with their dream day. Weisberg and George advise staying away from these 10 common hair mistakes that brides make.

1. You cut your hair days before the wedding.

Stay away from the scissors and don’t plan on getting a haircut right before the big day. Instead, do it a month or two prior to the wedding to ensure that you like the cut and it will work with the hairstyle you’ve chosen.

2. You forget about touch-ups.

If it’s in your budget, consider having the stylist stay after the ceremony and throughout the evening to do touch-ups to your hair—or even give you a completely different look. If the expense is too high, ask the stylist for tips on how to touch up your own hair during the reception.

3. You forget your veil or headpiece.

The veil factors into your overall look, and its length and style may determine if you’ll want to wear your hair up or down. If the veil hasn’t arrived yet, ask the bridal salon to loan you a sample, or at least bring along a photo when consulting with your hairdresser.

4. You don’t carefully choose your stylist.

You will remember your wedding day forever, so choose someone you trust to style your hair. If your hairdresser doesn’t typically do wedding hairstyles, ask him or her for a recommendation, or speak with friends or other brides who have had hairstyles you’ve admired.

 5. You experiment with hair color.
Talk to your stylist about how you envision your hair on the big day, and let your colorist know if you are planning on wearing your hair up or down. It’s also not advisable to dramatically change your hair color before the wedding. You want to look like an enhanced version of you, not someone completely different.

6. You only try one style.

Just as you tried on several wedding dresses (even if you knew the first one was the best), have your stylist show you at least three different looks based on your description of what you want.

7. You forget about the dress.

Your hair should always complement your gown. Select your gown first and then decide on the hairstyle with your stylist.

8. You think short hair is your only option.

9. You go to your consultation without any ideas.

Pictures speak louder than words. Gather photos (e.g., from magazines) of hairstyles you like. This will give the stylist an idea of the kind of style you’re seeking. The stylist can’t make you look like the person in the picture, but he or she can attempt to copy the hair as long as the texture and length are not an issue.

10. You forget about the groom

Although you’ll be the focus of the big day, you will want his hair to look just as good. Make sure the groom gets a good haircut a week before the wedding.

A classic bun accented with vintage gold hair accessories

This wedding hairstyle inspiration comes from a real bride – Emily accented her classically romantic updo with a gold ribbon headband and vintage brooch for her Boston wedding.

Peony Bridal Hair Accessories

Peonies are popping up big in bridal hair ornaments this year.
The hand-curled feathers of Twigs & Honey’s Peony Hairpin for BHLDN make for pillowy, whimsical loveliness while Jennifer Behr’s Natalia uses lush, hand-stitched silk peonies and French veiling to interweave high couture and charm. I love the fluttery romance of both lines—a perfect way to add elegance to your bridal ‘do without making it scarily overdone.

Abbie Cornish’s modern take on Old Hollywood glamour

Actress Abbie Cornish looked lovely at the premiere of Limitless – her updo channeled the style of old school movie stars, but still felt fresh. Wedding hairstylists tell me that brides often request a “glamorous Old Hollywood look,” and I think this is the perfect way to pull it off with a modern twist. Nexxus Creative Director Kevin Mancuso, who created Abbie’s look, says that leaving one side slightly looser than the other—playing on the popular asymmetrical trend—is what keeps this style updated.

To recreate the look, spray wet hair with volumizing spray gel, then part hair to one side and blow dry with a round brush, rolling hair away from the face. Set hair in small velcro rollers, and after hair cools, remove the rollers and gently brush. Apply a small amount of styling lotion (like Nexxus Verastyler Artistic Designing Lotion) and comb hair back with your fingers. Pull hair into a ponytail and use the tail of a comb to loosen and lift at the crown (on one side of the part only). Tuck the bottom of the ponytail up and under, then pin in place.

Glamorous Vintage-inspired Updo

With the upcoming royal wedding on their minds, hairstylists Mika Rummo and Nikki Ray of Salon AKS in New York City were inspired to create this glam updo around a whimsical, English-wedding appropriate feathered hat.

To create the look, they started by smoothing a quarter-size dollop of styling cream through the hair for shine and control. Then they created an exaggerated deep side part, and brushed both sides back and securing for a tight, sleek effect.
To create a base for the bun, the loose hair was gently teased, then lightly brushed into a classic bun shape. The hat was placed slightly off center, about two inches away from the hairline.
Note: when wearing a fascinator with a veil, you want the veil to just cover the tip of your nose.

Stunning updo on Ruffled

I recently stumbled upon this stunning updo on Ruffled, and I can’t stop staring at the photos.
Styled by Daniel Palmer in England as part of a wedding inspiration shoot, it manages to marry Audrey Hepburn-style elegance with a dreamy, bohemian quality.
And the lovely gold headband from Flo & Percy’s Bohemia collection adds just the right amount of glitz.

The Trends of Pakistani Bridal Jewelry

Indians and Pakistani are world famous in their taste for jewelry when it comes to weddings and major traditional occasions. When a woman gets married in these South Asian Countries, she is adorned with heavy jewelry from head to toe. The traditional wedding dresses combined with the ideal jewelry make a perfect combination. The bridal jewelry is usually in contrast with the wedding dress. Sometimes traditionally gold jewelry is handed down as family heirlooms as well. Women want to look their best for their wedding and therefore they choose from a wide range of jewelry designs for their wedding.
If you are a Pakistani bride-to-be then there are a few ornaments that you would like to have for your wedding day. Traditional Pakistani bridal jewelry includes a number of different pieces for various purposes. The most important jewelry that a bride has to have is the necklace. In some regions brides are expected to wear more than one set or necklace.

Traditionally there is a galla band and a longer necklace called chokar that comes till the end of the blouse. There is another type of necklace set known as teen larra, this type of set has three different levels; one is short and around the neck, the next is a little longer and the third again comes till the end of the blouse. Traditionally the bridal jewelry should be pure gold with precious stones, but recently people are opting to go for white gold or silver with precious or semi precious stones. Also sometimes people prefer to choose less heavy sets for their weddings.
Bangles are also another major part of the bridal jewelry. There are many different types of designs for bangles from pure gold solid bangles to designed and studded and the Hyderabadi bangles which are hand painted. Sometimes bangles are accompanied by two Karras on either side of the bangles. Other ornaments that a bride can adorn on her hands and wrist are the Bazu Band, Panjangla, and rings with different stones and styles. On the side of the head just above the ear a bride wears a jhoomar, or a Matha Patti that covers the entire head. Some brides also wear a Nath on their nose. Earrings for bridal jewelry are usually heavy and the most common type of bridal earrings are the jhumkay. They have a fairly large base and sort of like an upside down hanging cup at the bottom. All in all bridal jewelry in South Asian Countries is heavy and studded with precious stones. Some girls also wear a payal around their ankles.
